Discover Ascend Prime Steak & Sushi

Walking into Ascend Prime Steak & Sushi feels less like showing up for dinner and more like stepping into a polished night out that just happens to revolve around exceptional food. Tucked inside the Lincoln Square complex at 10400 NE 4th St Ste 3100, Bellevue, WA 98004, United States, this spot has quietly built a reputation among locals and visiting food lovers who expect their steakhouse experience to come with a little extra flair.

From my own visits, what stands out immediately is the view. Floor-to-ceiling windows overlook downtown Bellevue, and if you time your reservation right around sunset, the room shifts into a warm, glowing backdrop that sets the tone before the menu even hits the table. I once brought a colleague visiting from Chicago, someone who considers himself a serious steakhouse critic, and even he paused mid-conversation just to take it all in. That moment alone tells you Ascend understands atmosphere as well as flavor.

The menu strikes a thoughtful balance between classic steakhouse comfort and Japanese-inspired precision. USDA Prime cuts are front and center, and the staff is well trained to walk you through marbling, aging, and cooking methods without sounding rehearsed. According to data from the USDA, Prime-grade beef represents less than 2% of all graded beef in the U.S., which helps explain why the ribeye here has such a rich, buttery texture. Pair that with a house-made sauce or keep it simple with sea salt, and the quality speaks for itself.

On the sushi side, the experience feels equally intentional. Fish is flown in multiple times a week, and you can taste the difference in the clean finish of the nigiri and sashimi. I’ve sat at the sushi bar watching the chefs work with calm precision, slicing toro and hamachi with the kind of confidence that only comes from years of training. The combination of steak and sushi might sound ambitious, but it works because both sides of the kitchen operate at a high level rather than one being an afterthought.

Reviews often mention the service, and that praise is earned. During one visit, our server noticed we were celebrating an anniversary and casually adjusted the pacing of the meal, giving us space to enjoy each course without feeling rushed. Hospitality research from organizations like the Cornell School of Hotel Administration consistently shows that personalized service increases overall dining satisfaction, and Ascend seems to apply that insight naturally rather than mechanically.

The wine and cocktail program deserves its own nod. The wine list leans global, with strong representation from Napa, Bordeaux, and Japan, while cocktails play with subtle Japanese elements like yuzu and umami bitters. Even if you’re not a spirits expert, the bartenders are happy to guide you based on what you enjoy rather than pushing trendy options.

There are a few limitations worth mentioning for transparency. This is not a casual diner, and prices reflect the ingredients, location, and level of service. Parking can also feel busy during peak hours due to the surrounding shopping and entertainment venues. Still, for those looking for a polished dinner destination with consistent execution, the trade-offs are understandable.

Whether you’re scanning reviews for a special occasion spot or narrowing down locations for a business dinner, Ascend Prime Steak & Sushi fits the bill when expectations are high. The combination of premium steak, carefully crafted sushi, attentive service, and a skyline view creates an experience that feels complete rather than overdesigned, which is likely why so many diners keep coming back.

  • One of the best dining experiences I’ve ever had. My bf and I got seated near the window, and had an incredible waiter who walked us through the menu, gave recommendations, and really helped us make the best menu selections. Coming to visit from the east coast, I didn’t know what to expect, but I was completely blown away!! Price range is steep for sure, but this is the perfect spot to celebrate a special occasion or splurge on a great date night out <3

  • Undeniably the best meal I have ever had in my life, bar none. I ordered the following as a part of a table for four: Appetizers - Salmon Ceviche Roll (6 pcs) - Caesar Salad w/ Smoked Salmon Entrées - Truffle Fries - 32oz Dry Aged Bone-in Porterhouse - Cabernet Sauvignon au pair Dessert - The Hive - Cappuccino The table total (including tax and a 20% gratuity) was just under 4 figures, though over 1/5 of the subtotal was a single bottle of wine. Expect ~120-180 per person, not including drinks. You can definitely get a table of four below $500 as there a few entrées at or below $40 - an absolute bargain given they share menu space with Wagyu and Caviar. Sparkling water is the way to go as the bread course, sushi, and appetizers are all very light and fluffy. They use Saratoga Sparkling & Still, which has a surprisingly elegant mouth feel. If you're coming for dinner, skip lunch.

  • Ascend earns it’s reputation! Not an inexpensive restaurant, but an experience worthy of special occasions! This was our first time here. Atmosphere: We had a west facing view and the sunset over the city was fantastic. I wished I brought sunglasses in, but only for a bit before the sun went down. The views of Lake Washington and the Bellevue Square were amazing to see from so high up. Also welcome to go out to the patio, so we got a picture out there too. Service: Thomas was our head server and was friendly, knowledgeable, told us about things we didn’t even think to ask, and very attentive. He and his team were on top of it all night, food came out faster than we thought it might and our drinks (soda) were filled before they were even half gone. They made incredible recommendations too, explaining the menu and giving both their personal opinions and what is commonly ordered. Food: I expected the food to be amazing. A price tag like that for dinner wouldn’t be sustainable if it wasn’t. We both had an American Wagyu cut that was fabulous! The potatoes were good, but didn’t wow us. We also ordered mushrooms, fantastic blend of different varieties. The bread service at the beginning was unique, pork belly appetizer was so good too. For desserts, we got two and the presentation is very meticulously planned - they tasted amazing too, but this place is combining taste with presence and make for a memorable experience!

  • My partner and I came here to celebrate my birthday, and Ascend Prime truly delivered an unforgettable experience. This is definitely the spot to splurge for a special occasion—it felt worth every penny, and the amazing service truly makes you feel special. We made sure to grab a reservation ahead of time, and if you're a couple, you might get lucky with one of the tables right by the massive windows. The panoramic views of the city skyline and Lake Washington are absolutely breathtaking and instantly set the mood. The Cloud Nine cocktail was the perfect start—amazing! We decided to try the blend of steak and sushi. The sushi tacos were a fun, delicious surprise—a definite must-order (we didn't care much for the complimentary bread basket, but those tacos made up for it!). For my main dish, I had the Hamachi Truffle Roll. The flavor was fantastic and I'd order it again in a heartbeat, though I'll admit I wished there was a little more shaved truffle on top. My husband went for the Cap of the Ribeye Steak, and he absolutely loved it—cooked perfectly, tender, and intensely flavorful. The side of foraged mushrooms was also a great complement. To top off the night, the Halo dessert was presented beautifully, a perfect showstopper for a birthday celebration. Restaurant offers a dedicated plant based menu for vegetarian and vegan customers

  • We visited Ascend Prime for my husband’s birthday dinner. Being a steak lover, he was absolutely in awe of the food and service. We also got a very nice table with spectacular views of the city skyline. Needless, to say the staff is very courteous and helps you not just with the food but also occasional photos. We will surely visit again. PS- The complimentary birthday dessert platter was a literal sweet gesture by the staff.

  • Absolutely recommend Ascend, what a wonderful experience. The restaurant space is beautiful, they have an open kitchen area where you see beautifully displayed meat laying on the side of butchers knives. The chef grilling up all the delicious feasts. We were sat right in front of the glass with a spectacular view of the lake and sunset. The staff all were amazing and detailed. They explained each dish and were perfectly attentive (not annoying where they ask you every two seconds) very timed. They have one of the best vegan/vegitarian menus! Something for everyone. We ordered the Octpus, Beet Salad, Spicy citrus avocado roll, Grilled vegetables, King salmon, mushroom wellington!!!! And of course dessert wish they had the Magic mushroom but there were no more so we went with the Skyfall. I will be back just for the Magic mushroom. They also have a great mocktail selection :). They have an outside section as well. But hands down best view or shall i say views of all of Seattle/Bellevue you can see everything. If you want to impress this is the place, if youre celebrating something special tbis js the place..but i must say dont just wait to celebrate something just go and enjoy living and being present is always something to celebrate. Happy indulging!
